I rewatched Ella Enchanted for the first time in years and there is one thing that really bothers me.

If you knew me, you’d know that I’m a big fan best science fiction films. Whether it’s a rewatch world Harry Potter or he leaves Lord of the Rings movies for the first time, I always loved having fun in the worlds of monsters, magic and more. But do you want to know one movie that I still forgot about? Ella is fascinated.

I decided to watch the movie after very much long day of cleaning and I had truly forgotten how magical this movie is and how good it makes me feel. But after that, something else struck me and I wanted to write it – a specific aspect of the film that bothers me. And it may not be what you think, because that’s not the problem with the movie itself.

Let’s get to it.

First of all, the film is still as magical as I remember.

If you haven’t seen Ella Enchanted, please stop reading this article right now and check it out. I assure you, it is as much fun as you can imagine. If you don’t know what the movie is about, Ella enchanted follows the main character as she embarks on a journey through her country in search of the fairy who gave her the gift of “obedience.” This gift essentially means that Ella is doing what she is asked to do, and it is obvious that she wants it. left as she gets older.

Whole movie full so many funny moments that made me smile and laugh throughout the entire movie. For me this is one of the The best films of Anne Hathaway because it was one of the highlights of her career and her chemistry with Hugh Dancy is one of the best I’ve seen in a fantasy film.

You can clearly tell that this film was a product of the rapidly developing computer graphics technology at the time and that the effects are quite good. But the magic, the fun, and everything in between makes this movie enjoyable. But you want to know what’s bothering me?

How can we avoid increasing the number of musicals in jukeboxes?

But it makes me wonder why we don’t have such fun musicals in jukeboxes

I have a feeling there was a time when jukebox musicals were on top of the world. From revised Mama Mia! To Jersey Boys, Happy Feet, and much more, it feels like they all… fell off.

Before you attack me…Yes, I know this Joker: Folie a Deux It was technically a jukebox musical, but I don’t put it in the same realm as this magical film. Joker: Folie a Deux’s the musical part was done wellbut this was more to satisfy the characters’ history and the mania behind their mental health rather than Really entertain the public.

When I think of a classic jukebox musical, I think of songs that move the story forward, that give meaning to the story, rather than being thrown in there just for the sake of the musical. There have been several over the last decade or so – e.g. Rocketman, Amazon Prime Cinderella, and unnecessary Mama Mia! Here we go again — but none of them have truly reached the heights that jukebox musicals once were.

And this movie is exactly what I think of when jukebox musicals come to mind. It’s not overloaded with songs, but just enough to complement the story, add vigor, and keep you smiling throughout.

I think with the right songs, jukebox musicals can still work

Eat many modern musicals There are some musicals that are considered jukebox musicals. From the new Michael Jackson show on Broadway to the Carole King musical and more, I really think it would be well adapted into a big movie.

But they don’t even have to be on Broadway to work. I mean, think about Rejoicing. There are so many fantastic Rejoicing coversand the show itself was just one long jukebox musical. While he was certainly not welcome on television, he was hugely popular for a long time, and for good reason. If you have someone behind the scenes willing and able to choose the right songs, you can work your magic.

What I’m trying to say is that there should be a lot more musicals in jukeboxes, and more often. We get them sometimes, but they don’t stand out as much as they used to. Of course, there are plenty of great games that have nothing to do with musicals, many of which are released within Film schedule for 2024.

But sometimes you need something like this to make you smile on a bad day – and I wish there were more movies like this Ella is fascinated. Maybe one day we’ll get there. In the meantime, I’ll probably reconsider this.
