Several schools in Perth and Kinross will reopen tomorrow after closing today.

However, the council says the situation at each school is subject to change on a daily basis and that some centers will only be partially open.

Shutters have been lowered in all primary schools, early childhood education and childcare settings.

Parents and carers will receive updated information every day at 1pm on Perth and Kinross social media and websites.

The disruption came as Unison non-teaching staff went on strike in a dispute over pay.

The following schools will open tomorrow:

• Abernight

• Blair Atholl

• Collase

• Dunning

• Formal

• Glendelwine

• Glenlyon

• Kinloch Rannoch

• Portmoak

• Ruthvenfield

Today was the start of a two-week planned strike that will see Unison members target John Swinney’s constituency in the hope it will lead to more money being offered.

The First Minister said: “I think it is completely unacceptable that my constituents should be drawn to strike action simply because their member of the Scottish Parliament happens to be First Minister.

“The GMB and Unite have accepted the latest wage deal and their members are not on strike.

“The Treasury Secretary has made it clear that we have put more money into local government to help fund the deal and we have no more money to offer and that remains my position.”
