WBBL 2024: Schedule, format, England stars to watch and how to follow them on BBC

Back in September, a draft was held where teams submitted bids for foreign players for the 2024-25 season.

Hobart Hurricanes had first choice and teams had to select a minimum of two foreign players and a maximum of four.

There is a hierarchy of salaries for overseas players which corresponds to the round in which the players are selected and is as follows:

Platinum: AUD 110,000 (GBP 56,400)

Gold: AUD 90,000 (GBP 46,000)

Silver: AUD 65,000 (£33,300)

Bronze: Up to AUD 40,000 (GBP 20,500)

After a premature exit from the T20 World Cup groups, there is no rest for the England players, which includes some big names.

Danny Wyatt-Hodge was the first pick at the highest platinum level and joined the Hurricanes. New Zealand World Cup winner Susie Bates will replace Wyatt when she heads to South Africa for the England tour.

Number one spinner in the world Sophie Ecclestone and England captain Heather Knight the Sixers and Thunder were retained, respectively. Knight is recovering from a calf injury sustained at the World Championships but will join the Thunder.

Amy Jones Scorchers was left, but Alice Capsey joined the Melbourne Renegades from the Stars.

Holly Armitage And Georgia Adams also with the Sixers and Thunder.
