Police ask prosecutors to consider filing sexual assault charges against Russell Brand: report

In light of a 2023 Sunday Times report in which four women came forward and accused Russell Brand of sexual assault, rape and emotional abuse, London’s Metropolitan Police have asked the Crown Prosecution Service to consider charging the actor on these charges.

Detectives investigating the allegations testified Saturday that they interviewed a “man in his 40s” “three times” in connection with the case and turned over evidence to prosecutors, The Guardian reported.

A representative for Brand did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The four women who accused Brand of whistleblowing claimed that each incident occurred between 2006 and 2013.

One of the unnamed accusers, identified in the report only as Nadia, alleged that Brand raped her “against a wall” at his Los Angeles home in 2012, when she was in her thirties.

“He’s much taller than me. And he has that glassy look again. And I can’t move. And I told him, ‘Fuck off, fuck off,'” she said, adding that the “Get Him to the Greek” star, who was married to Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012, allegedly did not wear a condom during the act. .

The next day, Nadya reported her injuries to the rape center. According to the publication, medical records were able to confirm her claims.

Another accuser argued that she was a minor, just 16 years old, when she said Brand assaulted her. She told the publication that Brand called her “baby” during their relationship.

At the time of their interaction, Brand was 31 years old. She claimed the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was “emotionally abusive and controlling” during their three-month relationship while he was working as a BBC presenter.

Brand has strongly denied allegations of abuse made against him before the report was published, saying his “erratic” actions were “always consensual.”

“I have received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a leading media broadcaster and the other from a newspaper, which list a number of egregious and aggressive attacks,” he said. “Among this list of astonishing, rather bizarre attacks, there are some very serious allegations that I categorically deny.”

“When I was in movies, which I wrote a lot about in my books, I was very, very promiscuous,” Brand continued.

“In those days of promiscuity, my relationships were always consensual.”
