10 local children adopted on National Adoption Day

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Ten children found their forever homes with six different families in Hamilton County during a touching celebration of National Adoption Day.

The children, ranging in age from two to 16, were officially adopted in a ceremony presided over by Judge Ralph Winkler in the courtroom.

Judge Winkler expressed his joy, calling the event “the best court case of the year.”

“Many children have had difficult lives, but now their lives are changing dramatically for the better. They are in loving, caring and safe homes. For me, this is like the beginning of Christmas and Thanksgiving,” said Judge Winkler of the Hamilton County Probate Court.

Judge Winkler, who has overseen nearly 1,000 adoptions over the past nine years, said he hopes days like this will inspire others to consider adoption. He stressed that adoptive parents can be young or old, single or married.
