Pappy’s Place is hosting a hot wings contest for a good cause.

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (WAFF) – It was hot for some in Scottsboro on Saturday.

You might be thinking about the temperature outside, and, well, not really.

Pappy’s Place held its second annual charity Beyond Flaming 1 Wing Challenge. Money raised will help Capable of Jackson County build a sensory play area for children with autism.

The hot wings were coated in a sauce that measured 9 million Scoville units. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the people who took part in the test felt their mouths were on fire.

Take one brave soul, Danielle, who said this is her second time competing in this competition.

Danielle said, not even a few seconds after taking a bite of the hot wing, “I can’t think, wait, this is happening right now, oh my God!”

Emotions from the heat were difficult, but Pappy’s owner said it would “probably last about 10 minutes” before the pain went away.
