Memphis Grizzlies release injury report against 76ers

Saturday’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies will be missing several important names. The Visitors recently released detailed medical information on several players, confirming that the Grizzlies will be without some critical players.

Vince Williams Jr. is recovering from a tibia injury. The Grizzlies said he could return to action in two to four weeks. It is obvious that he will continue to sit out Saturday.

Cam Spencer has also been working his way back from a sprained right ankle. The Grizzlies don’t intend to keep him on the team for another three weeks.

Former Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has seen plenty of action against the Sixers in recent years. He will not be allowed to travel to Philadelphia on Saturday night.

Smart started and played in the first five games of the season for the Grizzlies. Against the Brooklyn Nets, his night was over after six minutes. Smart was ejected from the Oct. 31 game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to the Grizzlies, Smart has a sprained right ankle. While he doesn’t have a specific recovery timeline, Smart will be evaluated weekly until he’s deemed healthy enough to return.

Finally, the Grizzlies provided an update on veteran sharpshooter Desmond Bane. According to the report, Bane was diagnosed with a strained right oblique muscle. As with Smart, Bane is considered a weekly pick. He also suffered the injury during the third quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Despite all the updates, the Grizzlies expect to be missing quite a few players on Saturday night. In addition to Bane, Smart, Spencer and Williams, the Grizzlies expect to be without JJ Jackson and Luke Kennard. John Konchar, who has a quad contusion, also has a good chance of sitting as he is unlikely to play.

On the other hand, the Sixers will not have Joel Embiid or Paul George on their roster. Both players have been sidelined since the start of the regular season. While both have recently expressed confidence in returning to the court soon, they will be playing their fifth straight game against Memphis this weekend.
