Strictly fans post logs of complaints against show over recurring trend | Television and Radio | Show business and TV

Dancing with the Stars fans immediately began complaining within minutes of Saturday’s episode when they noticed the trend.

The latest episode of the BBC One show, which is the first to focus on the icons, saw the 10 remaining celebrities and their professional partners dance to tracks from music legends.

In addition to the iconic tribute, Sunday’s results show will feature professional dancers performing a Beyoncé medley, with Johannes Radebe channeling star Sacha Fierce.

As part of the special week, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse wore costumes to pay tribute to their respective cults.

However, fans were quick to voice their opinions, especially since the band and stars already dressed up for Halloween last week. Taking to Now X’s Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Oh we can just skip the themed weeks #Strictly”, another wrote: “We don’t need fancy dress EVERY week #Strictly” and a third shared: “I agree now it’s It’s getting ridiculous,” reports the Mirror.

The show began with Pete Weeks impersonating Freddie Mercury paired with Jovita Przysta in a lively salsa set to Another One Bites The Dust. Elsewhere, Wynne Evans and Katya Jones paid tribute to Shirley Bassey with a sultry rumba to This is My Life, while Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin paid tribute to Taylor Swift with Americana song Smooth to Love Story.

This week’s performances marked a notable change, with professional dancer Lauren Oakley partnering JLS star JB Gill, 37, after his original partner Amy Dowden, 34, fell ill during filming last weekend.

Amy is said to be “feeling much better” after health concerns forced her to miss Sunday’s results program after she was taken to hospital and she missed this week of competition.

On Monday, a Strictly spokesman said: “Amy Dowden MBE is doing much better and the Strictly family sends her love and wishes her well.

“She is thrilled that fellow professional dancer Lauren Oakley can come to rehearsal and perform in Saturday’s show for the couple’s favorite JB Gill dance. “We all hope Amy comes back to dance with JB next week.”

The dancer returned to the show this year after undergoing treatment for stage three breast cancer, including a mastectomy and chemotherapy. In February, Amy said tests showed she had “no signs of illness.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
