Flathead Valley State Parks plans events in November

FLATHEAD COUNTY, Mont. — Two Flathead County state parks are planning events in the coming weeks.

Flathead Lake State Park is planning a volunteer cleanup day on Nov. 9 at the Wayfarers Unit in Bigfork.

The cleanup gives residents the opportunity to help clean up the park after the busy tourist season.

The event will also give community members the opportunity to voice their opinions on what projects they think the park should host in the next year.

Volunteers will be provided with snacks and possibly lunch.

The event will take place from 11:00 to 15:00 in the park.

Those interested in volunteering should register in advance for the event.

Lone Pine State Park in Kalispell will also host an interactive family program on November 9th.

The program will allow families to learn how animals cope with the cold and snow during the winter months.

Officials say the event is ideal for young children and their families.

The program will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the park’s visitor center. Registration is required to participate.
