Trump slams ‘media hoax’ over Cheney’s comment

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday criticized a “media hoax” over comments that he called former Congresswoman Liz Cheney a “war hawk” at an event with conservative figure Tucker Carlson.

Vice President Kamala Harris and left-wing media seized on Trump’s comments Thursday, accusing Trump of calling for violence against Cheney. Trump called her a “radical war hawk,” adding: “Let’s pretend she’s standing there with a rifle and shooting it with nine guns. FINE? Let’s see how she feels about this. You know, when the gun is pointed at her face. You know, they’re all military hawks when they sit in Washington in a nice building and say, “Gee… let’s send 10,000 troops straight into the jaws of the enemy.”

Talking to Fox & Friends Weekend On Saturday morning, Trump criticized the “fake news” media for trying to make it seem like Trump was calling for violence rather than criticizing Cheney for being a “war hawk.”

“Well, it’s fake news and they’re trying to make something out of it, and they’re so biased to begin with,” Trump said. “All I’m saying is that she’s a crazy war hawk.”

Trump also called Cheney’s father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, a “nut.”

“She was crazy, just like her father,” Trump said. “Her father took us to the Middle East and we spent $9 trillion; As a result, we killed a lot of people, including losing a lot of people ourselves. If you add up both sides, we killed millions of people, spent 9 trillion dollars; do you know what we have? Nothing. We didn’t save the butter. We didn’t do anything. Her father got rich from this.

“She’s probably worse than her father because she’s not as smart,” Trump added.
