WTA Finals Riyadh Presented by PIF Increases Chinese Viewership with CMG Deal

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Live tennis coverage of the WTA Riyadh Finals presented by PIF will be shown by CCTV-5, China’s leading sports broadcaster, following a new agreement announced by WTA Ventures and China Media Group (CMG).

The deal means viewers in mainland China and Macau SAR will have the opportunity to watch world number seven Zheng Qingwen compete at the year-end championships for the first time.

The crown jewel of the Hologic WTA Tour season, the WTA Finals in Riyadh presented by PIF will feature eight of the best singles and doubles players from around the world vying for the year-end title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2 to 9 November. China’s Zheng qualified for the WTA Finals after finishing a strong season in which she won 12 of 14 matches in Asia, including her third title of the year at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

As part of the deal with CMG, all of Zheng’s matches at the 2024 WTA Finals will be broadcast on linear channel CCTV-5. More matches and clips will be available on CMG’s digital services, including the CMG mobile app, CCTV Sports app, CCTV websites and mobile apps.

The deal continues CMG Hologic’s support of the WTA Tour after it became the official broadcaster for the recent China Open in Beijing and Dongfeng Voyah · Wuhan Open.
