Tottenham’s spring ‘surprise’ with a move to Arsenal ‘wasn’t foreseen’ as the target was ‘tempted’ to accept

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a “surprise transfer” as they “target” a raid on arch-rivals Arsenal.

Sol Campbell became a Judas at Spurs when he left the North London club for Arsenal, but there wouldn’t be the same reaction if Gunners goalkeeper Karl Hein made a similar leap.

22 year old guy joined Arsenal In 2018, his only appearance for a Premier League team came in the League Cup.

The 34-cap Estonia international was on loan from Reading in the Championship during the 2021/22 campaign and will spend the 2024/25 campaign with La Liga side Real Valladolid.

Hayne has made a positive start to the new season, starting Real Valladolid’s first eleven La Liga matches and his performances have not gone unnoticed.

Report from Football Insider claims Spurs “considering a surprise transfer that no one saw coming” as they target Hein.

The report explains why Hayne would be “tempted” to leave Arsenal for arch-rivals Tottenham.

“The interest came as a shock that no one expected, but they could have tempted him to move across North London.

“The goalkeeper has less than a year left on his contract with the Gunners and will be free to explore options for a move abroad from January.

“Although Spurs will not be able to take advantage of this situation until 2025, the goalkeeper will be able to complete the deal early before moving on to a free transfer.”

“This has led to increased interest in his signature as they look for a capable replacement for Guglielmo Vicario, who remains the first choice option under Ange Postecoglou.

“Hayne will have the final say on his future at Arsenal and he will be in control of his contract situation and it is still possible that he could commit his future to the club.” However, he remains the third option at the Emirates behind David Raya and loanee Norberto Neto, so he was allowed to travel and spend the season in Spain.

“He is expected to move ahead of current second-choice and former England international Fraser Forster at Spurs, with the 36-year-old also out of contract next summer.”

Ahead of Tottenham’s home match against Aston Villa on Sunday, Head coach Ange Postecoglou has confirmed one Spurs star will be out until “after the international break”.

“Mickey is the main (fear of injury),” the Tottenham head coach told reporters on Friday.

“He pulled his hamstring, but it’s not too serious. After the international break for him.

“He was obviously disappointed and was looking forward to the game.

“Of course, not as bad as the previous one.

“He’ll be working hard and the international break will last for another two weeks, so hopefully he won’t miss too much.”
