After nearly beating East Stroudsburg on the road last week, Lock Haven heads to West Chester for college football action at noon today.

The Bald Eagles went 3-5 this year after losing to East Stroudsburg 38-35. This was another game this year where the Bald Eagles played to the end and had a chance to win.

Lock Haven led 35-30 in the fourth quarter before Tahir Mills ran for a 14-yard touchdown to give it a three-point lead with 8:44 left in the game. The Bald Eagles had chances to keep an eye on the score, but were unable to tie the game or take the lead.

Jackson Ostrowski again had a big game through the air, going 17 of 36 for 281 yards and four touchdowns. Lock Haven found success on the ground as Damir Green had 13 carries for 89 yards, averaging 6.8 per carry.

Six Ostrovsky players caught the ball: Tiare Young (6 for 127), Coran Alleyne (4 for 54), Chris Hicks (3 for 36), KJ Howard (2 for 35), Quon Williams (1 for 20), Nino Cinti ( 1 out of 10).

West Chester enters tonight’s game with a 3-5 record after beating Millersville last week by a score of 41-23. While the Golden Rams struggled throwing the ball last week — Jordan Cooper was just 5 of 12 for 131 yards — three of those five completions were for touchdowns, as Cooper also rushed for 218 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14. 5 for carrying on the ground. Cooper is a dual threat that Lock Haven’s defense will have to account for throughout the game.

Cooper has 822 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns this season, along with 1,553 carries and 13 touchdowns.

West Chester’s defense was solid despite its record. Connor Noble (2), Matt Marshall (2), Abdul Stewart (2), Shane Mosley (1), Caleb Brown (1) and Daniel Hicks (1) combined for nine interceptions, seven quarterback hits and 18 pass breakups this year. . The Golden Rams defense also has 18 sacks in eight games, led by Debrick Johnson’s 3 1/2 and Seamus McCain’s 3.

Lock Haven’s goal this year was six wins, and the Bald Eagles will need to win the rest of their schedule to reach that goal. It begins today at West Chester and concludes with home games Nov. 9 against Shippensburg and the road finale at Gannon.
