Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis have lauded the momentum in bilateral relations following recent high-level exchanges.

An official statement on Saturday said the two leaders reaffirmed their strong commitment to further strengthen the India-Greece strategic partnership. In his address to Modi, Mitsotakis warmly congratulated him on his re-election in the general elections.

“Had a productive conversation with Prime Minister @kmitsotakis yesterday in which we reaffirmed our shared commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Greece. Together, we seek to deepen our cooperation in trade, defense, shipping and communications. Greece is also a valuable partner of India in the EU,” Modi said in a message on X.

They reviewed progress in a number of areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, defence, shipping and transport connectivity, following up on Mitsotakis’ visit to India earlier this year.

The two leaders also exchanged views on various regional and global issues of interest including IMEEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor) and developments in West Asia, the statement said.
