Tulsi Gabbard and Dr. Phil compare Trump’s ‘open tent’ GOP to ‘captive’ Democratic Party

“The direction of the Republican Party has changed significantly,” Gabbard, who recently announced she was joining the Republican Party, said during a speech at Dr. Phil Primetime. “It started with President Trump’s first term and has continued here for the last year and a half… evolving into what we see now, which is a big outdoor party.”

Gabbard publicly switched from independent to Republican on Oct. 22 during a Trump rally in North Carolina and pointed to how the former president hailed her, Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Danica Patrick as shining examples of the new Republican Party.

“Truly bringing people together not because, you know, we’ve all passed some arbitrary litmus test, but because we are committed and very passionate about the issues that matter most to the American people, which are rooted in our Constitution and our Bill of Rights . ” she told McGraw.

Democrats used to share that mindset, but that’s not the case anymore, Gabbard argues, and McGraw seems to agree.

“It seems like we have fringe factions, really on both sides, that have a big megaphone and are talking about these extreme issues that are being brought forward,” he said.

“It looks like the Democratic Party has really been taken over by these extremists,” McGraw added.

Gabbard said political takeovers and manipulation by big tech companies gave birth to a new Democratic Party and discouraged many party members from speaking out.

“The fear that was created, I still cannot understand how not a single Democrat in the House of Representatives or the United States, and neither President Biden nor Vice President Harris, stood up for Title IX and justice for women and girls. in sports and education,” she said.

“Not one of them stood up and said, ‘Hey, it’s wrong for boys to compete against girls in girls’ sports,’ and I don’t believe they all bought into the insanity of that view. They’re just afraid to stand up and tell the truth because they don’t want to be called transphobic. They don’t want to be called bigots and all the other names they call them,” Gabbard added.
