Cook County woman accused of assaulting family member and biting officer during arrest

A 25-year-old woman is facing charges after she allegedly violated a protective order, assaulted a family member and bit a police officer during an arrest in suburban Cook County.

Sheriff’s police responded to a domestic disturbance call in unincorporated Leyden Township where they found Cynthia Villagran who had reportedly assaulted a family member in violation of a protective order.

When officers tried to arrest Villagran, she allegedly resisted being handcuffed and bit one of the officers on the forearm.

Villagran was charged with aggravated battery on a peace officer, violation of a protective order, domestic battery and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office did not release any additional information.
