Broncos cut FB Michael Burton and signed OG Calvin Throckmorton to active roster

The Broncos took the procedural step Friday of signing offensive tackle Calvin Throckmorton to the active roster and releasing defensive tackle Michael Burton, the team announced.

The Broncos will return Burton to the practice squad on Saturday and promote him for Sunday’s game.

Throckmorton failed to move up after playing three games on the practice squad this season. He contributed to three offensive tackles and 12 on special teams.

Throckmorton has appeared in 48 career games and started 27.

Burton has played all eight games this season and has five receptions for 40 yards. He played 80 plays on offense and 149 on special teams.
