Melbourne Cup 2024: Australia’s richest racehorses revealed

You’d think that winning Australia’s richest horse race would guarantee your place in horse racing royalty. But Bella Nipotina’s gutsy $20 million Everest win last month hasn’t catapulted her into the list of rich riders.

The seven-year-old mare won four Group 1 races and collected a staggering $18.8 million in prize money, most of which was collected at Everest. She is now third on the list of all-time prize winners, behind the Winx, but significantly ahead of the invincible legend Black Caviar.
