Get Ready: CCSL Swimming, Metro Cross Country Ski Set | Higher School of Sports

The Metropolitan League Swimming Championships and Metro Cross Country meets help bring attention to weekend events that don’t take place on the ball field.

Preliminaries for the CCSL Championships begin Friday with two sessions at the Crawfish Aquatics pool.

The Metro Cross Country Race will be held Saturday morning at Highland Road Park.

CCSL girls’ preliminaries will begin at noon, with boys’ preliminaries at 4:00 p.m. Saturday’s finals for boys and girls will begin at 1:15 p.m.

Catholic School and St. Joseph’s Academy are the defending champions.

Episcopal’s Riley Simoneau and Dutchtown’s Matthew O’Konski are among the competitors to watch.

St. Joseph and Baptist Parkview are the reigning Metro cross country champions. The girls’ three-mile race is set for 8 a.m. at Highland, and the boys’ three-mile race will take place at 8:30 a.m.

Parkview’s Aiden Monister has been the top boys runner all season. St. Joseph’s Michelle Daigle and PBS’ sisters Lucy and Molly Kramer top the list of female runners to watch.
