Summary: Dostal and Hot Power Play helped the Ducks to a 3-1 win over the Isles.

Troy Terry and Leo Karlsson scored power-play goals to lead the Ducks to a 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders tonight at UBS Arena.

With the win, Anaheim improves to 4-4-1 on the season and 1-2-0 heading into the finale of a four-game trip east.

Scores from Terry and Karlsson gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead through two periods. Frank Vatrano sealed the win with an empty-netter, his first goal of the season. Mason MacTavish had two assists.

Between games with Anaheim, 24-year-old Lukas Dostal continued his outstanding start to the new campaign, earning his fourth win by stopping 40 of the Islanders’ 41 shots.

Mathew Barzal scored the lone goal for the Islanders, who fell to 3-4-2 on the season and 1-3-1 at home. Goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin made 19 saves.

Karlsson got Anaheim on the board first late in the first period, taking advantage of a long New York power play with a nice deflection off Frank Vatrano’s shot from the right wing.
