America’s No. 1 Quarterback, LSU Football Commitment Bryce Underwood Takes an Official Visit

America’s No. 1 Quarterback, LSU Football Commitment Bryce Underwood Takes an Official Visit

Five-star guard from Belleville (Mich.) Bryce Underwood remains the No. 1 player in America as he campaigns for his program.

LSU announced its commitment to Brian Kelly and company on Jan. 6, a decision that has had a ripple effect on the recruiting landscape.

Since Underwood’s announcement, the Tigers have dominated the recruiting process, ranking in the top five in the 2025 cycle.

Now that the early signing period is approaching, there is continued hype surrounding Underwood and his commitment to LSU.

One program is reported to be in contact with Underwood and his camp in the area: the Michigan Wolverines.

On3 sports recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong chimes in:

“With head coach Sherron Moore and Michigan making a big move into the early signing period, they are currently ranked 12th in On3’s recruiting rankings. One prospect they continue to be in dialogue with is On3’s No. 1 prospect in Bryce Underwood. Committed to LSU is recruiting to oversee progress. I believe that dialogue with the Wolverines is real. We’ll see how things go there, if Michigan lands Underwood, I think it would be an eye opener. a few more people before pen hits paper.”

Michigan is reportedly putting together Underwood’s impressive zero-sum package, but LSU is aware of the contact and remains in constant communication with the top carrier for the 2025 cycle.

Contact between the Underwood camp and LSU has not wavered, and despite outside noise, an official date has now been set for the visit.

Underwood will be in Baton Rouge next weekend for an official visit for LSU’s Nov. 9 game against Alabama, a source confirmed. This was reported by On3 Sports journalist Shea Dixon.

The No. 1 ranked player in America will make a return visit to Louisiana, where he will enjoy scenes of Death Valley, discuss the situation with the coaching staff and much more.

It’s important to note that Underwood has not attended any other programs since he verbally committed to LSU in January. He visited Baton Rouge several times, but made no official or unofficial trips anywhere else.

Now, even as Michigan continues to push for Underwood to call, he will be heading back to the Bayou State to spend a few days on LSU’s campus.

The “generational talent” has been with the LSU Tigers since the beginning of his recruitment, with offensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Joe Sloan working at point guard.

For Underwood, he is a player who makes an immediate impact and has the physical attributes that will have him ready to make some noise on day one.

247Sports Rating: “Franchise prospect with the perfect combination of size, arm talent and athleticism. Halfway through his senior season, he has shown no shortage of downfield command, which makes sense given his resume: He has more than 48 career starts and more than 165 touchdowns. These numbers are getting stronger. especially since he is very young for his class and will only turn 20 in his third year of college. He continues to improve as a passer and has become much more comfortable with his mechanics.

“Projects a multi-year role as a starter for a College Football Playoff contender who has a chance to eventually become a first-round NFL Draft pick with the tools he has. It may take a semester or two to find his footing, but Hunt’s ability to hunt big plays and distribute them on the fly may be hard to keep off the field, even if he’s still learning how to analyze complex defenses.”

Now that the early signing period is approaching, LSU will get more time to spend with America’s No. 1 prospect and the crown jewel of the 2025 recruiting cycle when Underwood hits campus next weekend.
