Richmond star Eilish Sheerin was sent straight to the tribunal after making deliberate contact with a referee, while veteran Sydney defender Maddie Collier was given a one-game ban.

Sheerin was charged with intentional contact with a judge, rather than reckless conduct, which would only be punishable by a fine.

The match review officer decided to refer Sheerin directly to the Tribunal over the incident, which occurred in the fourth quarter of the Dreamtime game in Darwin on Saturday night.

The incident occurred during a stoppage in the final two minutes of the match when Sheerin, who was around the ball, pushed her opponent Georgia Nanscawen into the path of the referee, who was running back from the field of play after throwing the ball. ball in the air.

Nanscawen’s head made contact with the referee’s thigh, causing the referee to fall to the ground.

Given that Shirin deliberately pushed Nanskawen away, it is believed that she caused contact with the judge and subsequent fall.

Collier was accused of rough conduct involving Brisbane player Shannon Campbell in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game.

The match review officer classified the incident as intentional, moderate impact and bodily contact, resulting in a one-game suspension.

Meanwhile, six more players were fined for their Week Nine actions.
