Flights to Dubai: Emirates returns to Adelaide with daily service – News

Emirates has resumed daily services between Adelaide and Dubai. The restored service offers passengers more than 4,200 seats per week between Dubai and the South Australian capital.

The Boeing 777-200LR aircraft offers 302 seats in two cabins, 38 business class seats in a 2-2-2 configuration and 264 seats in economy class. This reinstatement will allow more than 220,400 passengers to travel between Dubai and Adelaide per year, reflecting the airline’s commitment to South Australia and will support increased demand for travel to and from the region.


The return of Emirates will have a significant impact on the South Australian economy and tourism industry. The South Australian Tourism Commission estimates that tourism spending on Emirates’ daily direct non-stop flights generates more than $62 million annually and creates more than 315 full-time tourism-related jobs for South Australians.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said: “The return of daily Emirates flights to Adelaide is huge for South Australia. We don’t just welcome the return of a world-class airline; we are reopening South Australia’s doors to the world, showcasing our beautiful state to over 220,000 potential visitors every year.

This reconnection with Dubai and beyond will benefit our economy, create jobs and open up new opportunities for trade and tourism. With an estimated annual economic impact of $160 million, including $62 million in tourism spending, this service will play a critical role in our state’s growth. This is a clear vote of confidence in the future of South Australia and we are ready to make the most of it.”

South Australia Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said: “Last night we welcomed the first of more than 220,000 Emirates passengers who touch down in South Australia each year thanks to the major international airline’s daily returns. South Australia is now even more attractive to some of our key international markets as Emirates simplifies connections between our great country and more than 140 destinations around the world.

The return of Emirates will be an important player in our efforts to grow the state’s international market, which currently contributes $1.3 billion to the South Australian economy. I look forward to seeing South Australia featured in Emirates’ global marketing programmes, showcasing why we are a must-visit destination.”

Emirates Executive Vice President Passenger Sales and Country Operations Nabil Sultan said: “Australia remains a priority market for Emirates, to which we have been deeply committed for almost three decades. The return of our service to Adelaide reinforces our commitment to expanding our Australian service. network which now offers 70 weekly services across five Australian cities.”

Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox said: “Our customers will once again benefit from Emirates’ extensive global network, offering greater competition and customer choice, and connecting via Dubai to Europe, Africa and even the US east coast. This service will also attract international interest. visitors to Adelaide and be critical to our tourism economy, to trade and our economy as a whole, and to opening up export opportunities for our local producers.”

Emirates currently operates 70 weekly flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, connecting passengers to more than 140 destinations.

On 1 December, Emirates will resume a second daily service to Perth, offering 77 weekly flights from Australia with the capacity to carry 68,000 passengers per week to and from Australia, returning to its pre-pandemic capacity.
