Dwyane Wade names the actor his Miami Heat statue actually resembles

Dwyane Wade also has a pretty honest opinion about his new statue.

The Miami Heat unveiled a statue in Wade’s honor outside the Casey Center on Sunday, and the response was swift and quite brutal. Most felt the statue looked nothing like the Hall of Fame guard who led Miami to three NBA titles.

On Monday, Wade was asked about the statue and whether he had heard criticism. He hastened to admit that this was so.

“Yes, I have an iPhone,” Wade said. “The world of social media is made up of opinions. Send me some memes. We don’t care. Yesterday was a special moment, me and my family… He doesn’t have to be like me. This is the artistic version of me.”

That’s a great attitude about it all. Wade also mentioned that he thinks the statue makes him look like the iconic actor. According to Will Manso, Wade laughed and said his jawline made him look like Laurence Fishburne.

This is a great call from Wade. Some have suggested that it is similar to Kelsey’s Grammar, but Fishburne is a more accurate version.
