After a strong start to the season, the Warriors will have a few games to adjust to life without Stephen Curry.

During Golden State’s home opener loss to Los Angeles, Curry suffered an apparent ankle injury that briefly sidelined him. Shortly after returning to the court, Curry aggravated the injury and left the field for good.

What is Stephen Curry’s injury?

Curry’s injury is a sprained left ankle. He will have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity.

He first suffered the injury in the third quarter when he caught his foot while running toward goal. Curry aggravated the injury early in the fourth quarter when he attempted to screen teammate Moses Moody.

Curry, 36, suffered from ankle injuries early in his career. His ankle problems have improved significantly since he started playing in an ankle brace, but the protective gear couldn’t prevent his problem against the Clippers.

He came out of Sunday’s game with 18 points (6-of-11 shooting), six assists, four rebounds, two steals and six turnovers in 27 minutes.

How long has Stephen Curry been out?

It “looks like” Curry will miss time with an ankle injury, according to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.

The amount of time missed depends on the nature of the injury and how Curry responds to treatment. The Warriors will play three games in six days after Sunday’s loss to the Clippers, including back-to-back games against the Pelicans on Tuesday and Wednesday.
