Market Drayton councilors will consider installing a floral display at a meeting to discuss next year’s budget

Market Drayton Town Council will hold a Services and Facilities Committee meeting this Thursday to discuss a wide range of topics.

The meeting agenda includes consideration of a proposal to provide and install a flower display in the North Shropshire town.

The meeting agenda added that city councilors will also consider increasing the watering fees charged to local businesses that have been provided with a hanging basket by the city council outside their business premises.

Elsewhere, councilors will consider whether to continue paying for junior and senior youth club activities and will also consider a local resident’s request to plant trees on the lawn around the Hampon Drive playground.

It is important to note that Market Drayton Town Council will review and agree to the Services and Facilities Committee’s proposed budget for 2025-26.

An update on the Towers Lawn restrooms and plans that have been submitted for renovation will also be provided.

Meanwhile, another successful Festival of Lights will be in the discussion after hundreds of people turned out to see the Christmas lights switched on at Drayton Market.

Members of the public are invited to listen to the meeting online and can also ask Council questions about local issues – provided they notify the City Clerk of their intention to do so by noon the day before the meeting.
