The Foxes are looking for a new first team manager after parting ways with Steve Cooper at the weekend.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at the hands of Cooper’s predecessor Enzo Maresca left the Foxes 16th in the Premier League and one point above the relegation zone.

Although they are outside the drop zone, reports suggest Leicester management were concerned that their performances would not be good enough to retain their top-flight status.

A club statement said: “Assistant coach Alan Tait, first team coach and analyst Steve Rands have also left the club. Steve, Alan and Steve leave with our thanks for their contributions during their time at the club and our best wishes for the future. .

“Men’s first team training will be overseen by first team coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to complete as soon as possible.”

But who is next in line for the position and will they be appointed before next weekend’s match against Brentford?

Graham Potter is high on the shortlist for the Leicester manager job, having been the leading candidate to replace Maresca earlier this summer.

However, he has been out of control since leaving Chelsea in March 2023 and will need convincing to take on the project, according to reports.

David Moyes is next, 15/8. The Scottish manager remains a free agent after leaving West Ham in the summer and is reportedly being assessed by top-flight Leicester.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is another name on Leicester’s shortlist. He is offered at 10/3 following his short but successful four-game spell at Manchester United.

Elsewhere at higher prices is Mark Robins at 12/1, ahead of the 20/1 duo of Carlos Corberan and Lee Carsley with Liam Rosenior, Esteban Cambiasso, Michael Carrick and Edin Terzic all offered at 25s.
