NSW Police have charged a man days after buildings and cars were spray painted in Sydney’s east.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with 21 offenses days after cars and buildings in Sydney’s eastern suburbs were vandalized with anti-Israel sentiment.

Shortly after midnight last Thursday, emergency services responded to reports of a burning car in Woollahra, as well as reports that nearby cars and buildings had been spray-painted with messages including anti-Israel language.

Last week, NSW Police said two people were captured on CCTV footage painting cars on Wellington Street in Woollahra.

NSW Police said 10 vehicles, including the burning car, and three buildings were spray-painted, causing damage estimated at about $100,000.

There were no reports of injuries, but the act was widely condemned by both federal and state leaders.

Following police investigations, a 20-year-old man was arrested in Mascot at around 4am today and charged with 21 offences, including 14 counts of destruction and damage to property.

The man was refused bail and is expected to appear at Downing Center Local Court later today.

NSW Police said investigations were still ongoing.
