Nominees have been announced ahead of the 2024 AFLW MVP Awards AFL Players

More names will be revealed throughout the day and winners will be announced on Tuesday.

The 2024 AFLW MVP Awards, presented by KPMG, will take place on Tuesday 26 November, with several stars from the Sydney Swans named.

AFLW inductee Sarah Grunden has been nominated for the AFL’s Best First Year Player award, proudly presented by Australia’s Torrens University.

Sarah Grunden has been taken to the Sydney Swans with pick 16 in the 2023 AFLW Draft. The forward found early success and made her debut in round one against Collingwood, missing just one match in 2024. She kicked two goals for the Swans while averaging 4.7 kicks and 3.8 tackles.

Co-captains Chloe Molloy and Lucy McEvoy have been nominated for the AFL’s Best Player Captain Award presented by The Diamond Guys.

After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury early in the season, Molloy was forced to take on a leadership role on the touchline. Speaking to Sydney Swans Media in her post-season review, she expressed her desire to continue to make an impact on the program.

“I can’t physically be there, but talking (with a teammate) can help,” Molloy said.

Similarly, McAvoy, 23, has been forced to develop her leadership skills on the pitch due to injury problems and shortened matches.

Further nominations will be announced in the coming hours and day, with winners announced Tuesday evening. Stay tuned.
