Aldi, Morrisons, Tesco and Lidl are urgently recalling ranges of products

Major supermarkets have recalled a number of products that may be dangerous for some consumers. The Food Standards Agency has issued recall warnings amid concerns some products may be contaminated.

Reviews include potato salad that may contain pieces of metal, garlic that can cause food poisoning, and sauce that may contain dangerous bacteria. A product recall in the UK is a process in which a manufacturer, distributor or retailer asks consumers to return a product due to safety issues, defects or regulatory compliance issues. It is usually initiated when a product is found to pose a risk to health, safety or the environment.

This product recall is intended to protect public safety and maintain consumer confidence. Companies are advised to act quickly to minimize damage. If there is a problem with a food product that prevents it from being sold, it can be “withdrawn” (removed from shelves) or “recalled” (where customers are asked to return the product). The FSA issues product recall information notices and product recall information notices to ensure consumers and local authorities are aware of problems associated with food products. In some cases, a “Food Alert for Action” is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.

Morrisons

Morrisons is recalling Morrisons crushed garlic because the product excludes an ingredient that prevents microbiological growth and therefore poses a potential risk to consumers. The recall includes all 75g packages with a best before date of October 19, 2025.

Without this ingredient, potentially dangerous food poisoning bacteria can grow inside the package.

Point of sale notifications will be displayed in stores where the product was sold. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they bought it.

If you buy garlic, don’t eat it. Instead, return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Lidl

Lidl GB is recalling Meadow fresh potato salads because they may contain pieces of copper. The possible presence of copper makes these products unsafe to eat.
