Adopt-A-Family Mission Statement

SOLANA BEACH, Calif. – The holiday season brings out the spirit of giving, and this year the Adopt-a-Family Foundation’s holiday boutique provided community members with a real opportunity to support a critical cause. The event, held at the Loma Santa Fe Country Club, was full of energy, filled with local vendors, live music and an outpouring of support for families affected by the tragic events of October 7th in Israel.

The Adopt a Family Foundation works tirelessly to provide financial and emotional support to Israeli families who have been victims of terrorist attacks. What makes the organization unique is its commitment to developing long-term relationships between American supporters and Israeli families. These relationships are not transactional in nature, but are designed to create real, lasting connections to ensure that victims of terror never feel alone in their recovery.

The holiday boutique was an extension of this mission, with every purchase and contribution from visitors contributing to the foundation’s continued support of Israeli families. From baked goods to unique jewelry and Judaica, vendors brought a wide variety of items that created a festive and social atmosphere for the event.

One of the most influential vendors at the event was Chai Vekayam (Alive and Existing), founded by Sonia Smith. After the October 7 atrocity, Smith felt the need to channel her energy into something meaningful. The result was the creation of Chai Vekayam, a merchandise retailer whose proceeds were used to help Israeli families. What sets Chai Vekayam apart from others is that Smith runs the initiative entirely on a volunteer basis, with all profits going directly toward purchasing goods or sending baskets of goods to families affected by the tragedy.

At the time of the event, 52 hampers had already been sent to Israeli families, and Smith continues to work tirelessly in support of victims of terrorism. Her baskets are intentionally sourced from Israel to support the Israeli economy and provide comfort to those who need it most. When participants arrived at Loma Santa Fe Country Club, they were immediately greeted with a warm sense of community. The room was buzzing with conversation, laughter and excitement as people shopped and socialized. From baked goods and clothing to home goods and candles, Holiday Boutique has something for everyone.

It was clear that the event brought people together not only for shopping, but also for the opportunity to unite for a common goal. Walking through the boutique, visitors encountered both familiar and new faces, united by the desire to contribute to a cause that has impacted the lives of many people. The overall feeling was one of unity as community members realized the importance of supporting families who had lost so much.

Although there were no official programs or speeches during the event, the reason itself spoke volumes. Every product sold and every interaction in the room underscored a shared commitment to helping Israeli families rebuild their lives.

The holiday boutique was a resounding success, both in terms of community engagement and in supporting the mission of the Adopt a Family Foundation. Judging by the crowded hall and ebullient energy, people were eager to contribute to the common cause in any way they could. For many participants, it was an opportunity to come together, support a worthwhile cause, and share the spirit of giving that defines the holiday season.

If you missed this year’s event, be sure to look for opportunities to attend in the future. The Adopt a Family Foundation continues to make lasting changes in the lives of families affected by terror, and with your support they can continue their vital work.
