Punjab Kings used RTM card to re-acquire Arshdeep Singh for INR 18 crore

The mega auction of IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 started in Jeddah on November 24. As the 10 franchises geared up to bring in their team’s best players, the process began with India’s star player Arshdeep Singh going under the hammer.

Since the offer started at INR 2 crore, several teams like Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have shown interest in Arshdeep. After the star player was to be sold to SRZ for INR 15.75 lakh, Punjab Kings exercised their RTM (Right to Match) card and roped in Arshdeep for a whopping INR 18 crore.

Arshdeep Singh has played regularly for both Team India and Punjab Kings in the IPL. Showcasing his class in the shortest format, many would argue that the star driver more than deserved the price he got.

It is worth noting that Arshdeep Singh So far, he has played 65 IPL matches and managed to take 76 wickets. He also maintained his economy at 9.03 and hopes to continue his outstanding performances for the Punjab Kings in the new IPL season.

Punjab Kings hope to improve their performance in IPL 2025

Punjab Kings are still in search of their first IPL title. Having been part of the tournament since its inception in 2008, Punjab Kings have yet to win a single title.

In IPL 2024, Punjab Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament. Having played 14 matches at the tournament, the team managed to win only five and lose the remaining nine matches. They finished in ninth place but are hoping to attract good players and clinch their first IPL title.
