Meghan Markle could appear at the Invictus Games next year, with the sporting event due to take place in February 2025.

While her appearance has yet to be confirmed, one public relations expert suggested it might have been better if Prince Harry attended the event alone.

Questions swirled about Meghan’s presence when Harry traveled on his own to an event in Canada, the host country of the next Games, earlier this month.

During the trip, which was used to promote the upcoming Games, Harry said he and the Invictus team are “really excited” about what’s to come in 2025.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, GoUp’s Edward Coram-James discussed what it would mean if Meghan attended – and if she didn’t.

He said: “Meghan’s presence could be a statement of unity – or a distraction. The Sussex brand has been damaged, there is no doubt about it.

“So when they show up together, they bring baggage with them. “Meghan’s presence could overshadow what the Games are about – veterans, not royal drama.”

He further added that Meghan’s absence will lead to further speculation about the couple. The public relations expert added: “On the other hand, if Meghan doesn’t come, people will inevitably wonder: ‘Are they growing apart? Are the Sussexes in trouble? She’s in a damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t situation.

Speaking about Harry, the expert added that, in his opinion, Harry would be better off attending the Games without Meghan by his side.

He added: “If Harry wants to rehabilitate his image, he’d better go it alone and show the world he can achieve something, even if Meghan is never in the picture.”

Mr Coram-James further explained: “In my opinion, Harry needs this moment to herself (it is his passion project after all) without the media frenzy following her around.”

While Harry headed to Canada earlier this month, Meghan is believed to have remained in California with her children. Enjoying an evening away from parental duties, the former actress made several appearances. Megan appeared at the Highbrow Hippie Launch Party on November 14.
