BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – There hasn’t been much to celebrate for LSU fans or players over the past few weeks. The Tigers entered Week 13 of the college football season on a three-game losing streak, a major disappointment for the LSU community. That’s especially considering LSU was 6-1 through the first seven games of the season, a record that turned into 6-4 in the blink of an eye.

Donning a new gold jersey for the game against the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Tigers’ main goal was to avoid a 4-game losing streak, something that hasn’t been a problem for them since 1999.

Tiger fans can thankfully breathe a sigh of relief after being spared Saturday night (Nov. 23) as LSU came out on top in Death Valley with a 24-17 win over Vandy.

Despite an early 7-0 lead, the Commodores were unable to stop the Tigers once things got going. LSU led 14-7 going into halftime.

Even with the Commodores’ fourth-quarter resurgence, the Tigers prevailed.

LSU’s next game against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, Nov. 30 will be their final home game of the season.

The start is scheduled for 18:00.
