Eagles announce two roster changes ahead of primetime game against Rams

The news we thought we’d get came around Saturday. It was announced that Britannia Covey, having seen his 21-day training window open earlier this week, has been promoted from the Philadelphia Eagles’ injured reserve to their 53-man active roster. Good for him. There is only one minor detail. He has not been assigned an in-game title.

This is fine. We’re just glad he’s physically moving in the right direction. The Birds will announce their inactivity 90 minutes before the start of their Week 12 game against the LA Rams. Something tells us Britain will play.

His activation accounted for half of Philadelphia’s lineup announcements Saturday afternoon. The other involves Philadelphia’s practice squad.

CJ Uzoma is also active. He was promoted from the Eagles’ scout team to the active roster before Philadelphia’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

This is interesting because he was also promoted in Week 11 for Philadelphia’s battle with the Washington Commanders. This means Philadelphia gave him maximum elevation. He will now need to make the active roster to play game days in the future.

We’ve seen him on a rollercoaster ride since he joined Philly’s roster. He was acquired by the Eagles on April 11 in a one-year deal. He was released on August 21, 2024, and re-signed with the practice squad on October 10.

Philadelphia’s game against the Washington Commanders was his first active game. He took three offensive snaps but was hit short as he couldn’t crack the stat sheet.

If Britannia Covey plays, it will be interesting to see if he can handle the receiver role. He and Cooper DeJean give Philadelphia a pair of good punt return options.
