Community Shout Vigil at Green Square Park in Cedar Rapids

Community Shout Vigil at Green Square Park in Cedar Rapids

A public vigil is scheduled for Sunday in Cedar Rapids.

Organizers say it will be a chance to acknowledge the chaos currently plaguing the world and show solidarity with marginalized communities.

They will also be handing out QR codes indicating resources available in the community.

“In this time of division, we don’t need to feel alone, we want to come together and share a message of solidarity and justice, to be with each other during this time,” said organizer Jess Karma.

The vigil will begin Sunday at 3 p.m. in Green Square Park across from the Cedar Rapids Public Library.

At sunset their candles will be lit.
