The 2024 MAMA Awards were announced this weekend and G-Dragon was one of this year’s winners.

Trust G-Dragon to make an epic comeback! The King of Pop returned to the MAMA stage after many years. Not only did he bring down the roof with his insane performance of Power, but he also won the Musical Visionary of the Year award. The rapper took the stage to accept the prestigious award and give a speech that went viral for an epic reason.

G-Dragon opened the speech by saying, “It’s been a long time, MOM. It seems like I got a meaningful reward because they decided to distribute the spoils fairly among us kids.” The comment was a hilarious reference to one of his old MAMA appearances in which he dug into the awards system. fans inside and outside the awards ceremony site were divided.

He then added: “Personally and as a group, today is a significant day. It’s been seven years since I last performed and 17 years since I first appeared at MAMA in 2007. Thank you for giving me an award that will remain a wonderful memory on this special day.”

“There are so many people I need to thank. From Yang Hyun Suk and the YG family to my new family in Galaxy Corporation and BLACK, as well as my favorite members of BigBang, I am so grateful,” the rapper added.

G-Dragon concluded his speech by teasing, “I’m not sure if this is a one-time award, but I’ll try not to miss it next year.”
