Donkey Kong Land is coming to Nintendo Switch Online!

The portable classic is back!

While the Nintendo Switch Online service may not be everything fans want, you have to admit that Nintendo is, for the most part, getting the job done in providing new games for people to play and enjoy in a decent format. For example, the newest announced game available right now: Donkey Kong Land! It was a Game Boy classic at the time because it could take everything the SNES games did with DK and then bring them to the Game Boy. It was a great example of a “portable adventure” with beloved characters.

Much like the SNES games, Donkey Kong required you to travel through various locations, defeat the forces of King K. Rool, and, if you were a completionist, collect all the “KONG” letters. While the game may have been on the Game Boy, we can say from experience that it was quite difficult at times. It wasn’t something you could go through easily, especially if you were trying to collect everything as you walked.

If you’re looking for nostalgia, check out the game now. Or you can try Donkey Kong Land via trailer below:

Now, if you’re looking for even more Donkey Kong fun, you won’t have to wait too long on many fronts. For example, Nintendo is continuing its trend of bringing games to the Switch before the release of Switch 2 by porting the Wii and 3DS adventure DK to the Switch. The game will have HD graphics and the levels of both the games will be combined to give you the best experience possible. Many still want a brand new game featuring the Kong family, but we’ll probably have to wait until the Nintendo Switch 2 for that to happen.

Or, if you’re hoping for something more “interactive”, Super Nintendo World recently revealed in full what the Donkey Kong Country expansion will look like for the theme park, and it seems just as special and wonderful as the original Mario. – theme park.

For example, you’ll see numerous iconic locations from Donkey Kong Island, including Kong’s Treehouse, the Golden Temple, Funky’s Store and more. There are many interactive areas including playing bongos, collecting KONG letters and more. Plus there’s a mine cart roller coaster!

The expansion opens in Japan next month and arrives in the US in 2025.
