The principle of objection does not apply when the error is to be corrected by the court: Kerala High Court

The court, however, found that there were obvious errors in the contested decision, which served as the basis for its revocation. The court added that fairness and fairness must prevail over rigid legal principles such as estoppel, especially in cases involving child protection.

“No doubt, the right to seek reversal of a judgment may be lost as a result of an objection. If one consciously accepts the benefits of an order, he is prevented from denying its validity. But this is a rule which is applied to ensure justice, and it cannot be applied in such a way as to violate the principles of justice and good conscience… Besides this, there can be no question of estoppel against a party if the mistake is made by the court itself, and the court is obliged to correct its own mistake.” said the court.
