General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam received leaders of major groups in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Vietnam always values ​​and welcomes Malaysian enterprises to invest and do long-term business in the country and continues to improve its legal framework, improve the investment and business environment, and simplify administrative procedures to create the best environment for them, General This was confirmed by the Secretary of the Central Committee Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam.

Receiving leaders of several major Malaysian groups on November 22-23 as part of his official visit to Malaysia, Lam acknowledged and appreciated the support and contribution of business to economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia, considering it a milestone and a key factor in ensuring sustainable and meaningful development of bilateral relations that bring practical benefits to the peoples of the two countries.

Praising Vietnam’s attractive and favorable investment and business environment, Malaysian group leaders confirmed that they will actively promote business activity in the country.

Lin Yong Lin, managing director of Gamuda Group, a leading regional real estate and infrastructure conglomerate, briefed the party chief on the group’s investment situation globally and in Vietnam.

Stressing that Vietnam is Gamuda’s preferred investment destination with great prospects, he expressed his desire to continue expanding investment in the country.

Praising Gamuda’s practical and effective contributions to the development of urban infrastructure projects in Vietnam, Lam emphasized that the construction and development of a modern urban system is one of Vietnam’s top priorities.

He called on the group to further expand its investment in urban development and technology, as well as in emerging industries where it excels.

Francis Yeo Sok Ping, chief executive of YTL Corporation Berhad, a leading regional developer of integrated infrastructure, reported to the Vietnamese leader on the company’s cooperation with the American corporation NVIDIA to build a large data center in the state of Johor, Malaysia.

He expressed confidence in Vietnam’s clean energy development trend and digital transformation, and expressed his desire to build a data center in the country.

Lam praised YTL’s vision and technological capabilities in identifying development trends, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence infrastructure and new technologies.

He expressed confidence that YTL will become an important partner in promoting digital transformation and infrastructure upgrading in Vietnam.

The party general secretary also stressed that Vietnam will create favorable conditions for large enterprises to invest in chip manufacturing and large data centers to take advantage of opportunities in light of the rapid development of science and technology.

Meanwhile, Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A (AirAsia), said he hopes to expand the group’s investment and business activities in Vietnam, especially in areas such as air travel, aircraft maintenance, tourism and financial services.

Lam praised Capital A’s strengths in capital, technology, international management experience, and its positive contribution to promoting investment and business in the Vietnamese market.

He urged the group to continue to expand its activities to meet the development needs and create a skilled workforce in Vietnam, as well as become an important bridge to attract more Malaysian enterprises to invest in the country.

Meeting with the Vietnamese leader, Vincent Tan Chi Yong, founder and advisor of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, expressed his desire to continue investing in urban infrastructure and tourism development projects in Vietnam.

Congratulating the group on their business achievements, Lam noted that the results achieved by Berjaya in Vietnam are a clear indication of the improving investment environment and the country’s enormous potential.
