OnePlus 13 will be released on October 31st, we already know details about the phone

OnePlus is all set to launch OnePlus 13 in China on October 31st. There is high anticipation ahead of the launch of the new OnePlus flagship, with speculations and rumors painting a picture of what to expect, including when the phone will launch globally and when in India. The OnePlus 13 is expected to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a Hasselblad-tuned camera system.

With just a few days left for the official launch, OnePlus has released teasers revealing impressive upgrades to the phone’s display, camera, battery and more. The recently leaked unboxing video of the Chinese variant running ColorOS 15 has further increased the hype. While the launch in China is still a few days away, let’s take a quick look at what we can expect from OnePlus’ next-gen flagship.

Expected specifications and features of OnePlus 13

In China, OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 13 in three new colors, with an updated design, a curved micro-display and an attractive circular camera module on the back. Unlike the previous OnePlus 12, the new camera module does not blend into the frame of the device; instead, as seen in the teasers, it appears to be a separate circular island with three lenses arranged in a square shape. Each lens is enclosed in a metal ring, which gives an attractive look and highlights the capabilities of the phone’s camera.

The upcoming OnePlus 13 flagship is expected to feature a 6.7-inch second-generation Oriental X2 8T LTPO AMOLED display developed by BOE with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. This display is already DisplayMate A++ certified, enhanced by TœV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Protection 4.0 technology. Other impressive display features include DC dimming technology and anti-flicker technology to reduce eye strain, as well as unique features such as Rain Touch 2.0, which makes the display responsive even in wet conditions, and touch sensitivity, comfortable for use in gloves, which is ideal for cold climates. Gaming-related touch optimizations are also expected to improve the experience for mobile gamers.

The OnePlus 13 is expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising improved power efficiency, speed and AI capabilities. Configurations of up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage are rumored to be offered – a huge jump that will appeal to power users and gamers alike. The chipset’s capabilities were highlighted by scores that reportedly exceeded three million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, reflecting the device’s potential to handle even the most demanding applications.

On the software front, the OnePlus 13 will launch with ColorOS 15 in China based on Android 15. However, for global markets like India, it will run OxygenOS 15, offering a cleaner and more stock Android experience tailored for different users. base. The latest version of OxygenOS will include AI-powered enhancements that align with industry trends and optimize the user experience based on behavior and preferences.

Battery capacity is another area where the OnePlus 13 can lead the flagship category. The device is rumored to pack a large 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging for long lasting power and fast recharging. For the first time, it can even support wireless magnetic charging.

The OnePlus 13’s camera setup is another big talking point, with Hasselblad once again tweaking the camera system. This collaboration is expected to improve the quality of photographs, especially in low light conditions. The triple-camera system is rumored to include a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view. The main sensor will likely be the Sony LYT-808, promising improved color accuracy and clarity. These lenses, as well as the imaging algorithms from the Oppo Find X8 series, should improve the overall imaging capabilities, making the OnePlus 13 a great choice for photography enthusiasts.

OnePlus 13 India launch and price expectations

With the OnePlus 13 slated to debut in China, Indian fans are already speculating about its local release. Going by previous launch patterns, OnePlus 13 could arrive in India by January 2025. For example, OnePlus 12 was launched in China in December 2023 and reached Indian markets a month later in January 2024.

As for the price, a recent leak on Chinese social media platform Weibo suggests a starting price of CNY 5,299 (roughly INR 60,500) for the top-end variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage in China. This represents an increase of CNY 500 over the OnePlus 12. Given this trend, the price in India could also increase, with the device potentially costing around INR 77,000 compared to the OnePlus 12’s starting price of INR 69,999.
