MAGA feels censored because they can’t be assholes on Bluesky

Bluesky is a great social media platform where you don’t feel like you’re getting into a cage fight every day. Xitter, on the other hand, does not moderate content and is abused by many MAGA users.

I have not received any death threats on BlueSky and have not seen maps of my home being distributed. However, this happened on Zitter and I reported it to no avail.

MAGA feels censored at Bluesky because they can’t be jerks on a social networking site that receives about a million users a day. Newsweek seems to be siding with the abusive MAGA assholes.

More conservatives are joining Bluesky, a microblogging site touted as an alternative to Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter), where some say they have either faced censorship from the platform or widespread abuse.

One prominent conservative social media user said his Bluesky account was shut down after he wrote, “There are only two genders,” while another received a content warning after calling out Rachel Levine, a transgender woman in the Biden administration , “man year.”

How sad.

Babylon Bee managing editor Joel Berry also joined Bluesky, sharing with X on Tuesday screenshots of a number of abusive messages he received on the platform.

On X, Berry wrote: “They said this X-competing platform would be a kinder, less hateful, less toxic alternative, but I really don’t feel that way.” He shared screenshots of Bluesky’s comments, in which in response to his words, “Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!” one user said: “Your mother should have given you an abortion,” while another wrote: “Stand in traffic.”

So why might this happen? Oh wait; Calling people “fags” isn’t cool, man.

Bluesky released a statement Friday noting that the platform’s dramatic growth has led to a surge in moderation reports.

“We have received over 42,000 reports in the last 24 hours (a record high in a single day). We receive about 3,000 reports per hour. For comparison: for the whole of 2023, we received 360 thousand reports. .”, said the Bluesky trust and safety department.

“With such a significant influx of users, we are also seeing an increase in spam activity, scams and trolling – you may have seen some of this. Our team is reviewing these accounts and you can help us by reporting them by clicking on the three-dot menu on each post/account,” Bluesky added.

Cry more, MAGA. You still have Truth Social, but there are others like Bluesky.

Bluesky CEO Jay Graber explained that Bluesky’s open design is meant to give users the ability to leave the service with all their subscribers, which could hinder potential acquisition efforts, and said it is “billionaire proof” since “everything is open source.”
