The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces have assured the public of their commitment to restoring peace and stability in Bawku, its surrounding areas and along the Bolgatanga-Walewale-Tamale Highway.

In a press release issued on Sunday, security agencies said joint police and military teams have been deployed in these areas to manage the tense security situation and ensure public safety.

According to the statement, the concentrated presence of security forces in Bawku and its environs is supported by additional joint forces along the main highway from Bolgatanga to Tamale.

The placement on this route is aimed not only at ensuring safety, but also at optimizing the movement of vehicles and controlling traffic flows in the region.

Police and military personnel reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace, law and order, assuring residents and travelers that efforts were being made to protect lives and property.

“The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces remain committed to maintaining peace and security in Bawku and its environs,” the statement said.

This latest intervention reflects the agency’s ongoing monitoring and response strategy to quell unrest and protect public trust in the northern region of Ghana.
