TMBU will host 5 underdeveloped villages in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur: Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) on Friday initiated steps to adopt five villages in backward areas to empower the people of these villages by reaching out to them and creating awareness about the actions of the state and central governments. social security schemes for them.
The TMBU initiative was taken at the direction of the Governor-Chancellor of State Universities Rajendra Viswanath Arlekarwho gave details of some villages of five blocks in Bhagalpur district. The residents of these villages are largely deprived and unaware of various welfare schemes, including Mahila Kisan Sashakthikaran Pariyojana (MKSP), Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP), National Rural Economic Transformation Project (NRETP), Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU). -GKY), Rural Self-Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) and other schemes for rural development.
Arlekar’s instructions to TMBU officials were given on the occasion of the TMBU ‘Academic Senate’ meeting on Thursday when he addressed the university officials and senate members. Citing central government statistics, Arlekar told TMBU officials that several villages in the five blocks, including Pirpainti, Sankhula, Sabur, Sultanganj and Jagdishpur, are extremely backward and underdeveloped, as are the villagers.
“TMBU should accept at least five villages from these five underdeveloped blocks and send its senior students, research scholars and teachers, besides the university staff, to carry out research on development and underdevelopment and determine the conditions of social, economic and cultural development in these five underdeveloped neighborhoods. TMBU should also engage its residents to create awareness among the villagers, their families and children about the government’s welfare schemes,” the governor added.
Meanwhile, TMBU Vice President Prof. (Dr.) Jawahar Lal said that they have taken steps to adopt the villages as per the advice of the Governor and soon teams from TMBU will do whatever is necessary to educate the people of the adopted villages.
