Top WR recruit set to follow Underwood from LSU to Michigan

Top WR recruit set to follow Underwood from LSU to Michigan

Former LSU football prospect Bryce Underwood committed to Michigan on Thursday night. Underwood, a Michigan native, is the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 class. This is a huge coup for LSU as the Wolverines land a program-defining prospect.

Underwood won’t be the last LSU to turn this Michigan cycle around. His successor will reportedly be four-star WR Derek Meadows.

Meadows is a top 50 prospect ranked No. 7 in the class by 247Sports, while On3’s industry rankings have Meadows No. 15 at his position.

LSU swung and missed several of the best receivers in the class. Five-star Dacorien Moore once committed to LSU before transferring to Oregon. The Tigers have also been linked to Kalik Lockett and Jamie Ffrench. It didn’t work out for LSU, and the Tigers turned their attention to Meadows.

Now receiver is once again becoming a necessity in the class, but there won’t be many prospects left on the board.

Meadows will be the third turnover for LSU in recent days. The Tigers lost four-star offensive lineman Devin Harper to Ole Miss ahead of the Underwood news later this week.

LSU’s class is top 10 in the country, but it won’t be as loaded as fans once hoped.
