Boulder County residents can apply to serve on the Emergency Services Grant Committee

Boulder County residents can apply to volunteer on the Emergency Services Grant Program Advisory Committee.

Applicants must reside in areas served by rural fire districts or fire departments in eastern Boulder County. According to the report, the term of office of the person elected to this seat will be three years.

In 2022, voters approved the emergency sales and use tax as a District 1B issue. Revenue from the tax is used to provide financial assistance to underfunded groups that provide emergency services, such as fire or search and rescue agencies in rural and mountainous areas of Boulder. County.

The nine-member committee provides information twice a year to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Board of County Commissioners on how grant proceeds should be spent.
